Rudrabhishek is the ritual bathing of the Shivalinga with sacred substances while the Sri Rudram is chanted. Milk, curd, honey, ghee, sugar, sandalwood paste and water are offered one by one, each with its own mantra.

Health, protection, peace of mind and the removal of obstacles are the most common intentions. It is also performed for new beginnings and in gratitude.
Auspicious days
Mondays, Pradosh (the thirteenth lunar day), Maha Shivaratri and the month of Shravan are considered especially favourable. A Pandit can suggest the best date after you share your intention.
